Monday -
Flew to Portland Oregon with Amanda (she had a conference and I tagged along) ended the night drinking beers with her friends.
Tuesday -
Worked from the hotel, had lunch with Amanda and then ended the night drinking with her friends.
Wednesday -
Worked from the hotel, had lunch with Amanda and then ended the night drinking with her friends from college.
Thursday -
Worked from the hotel, then met up with a old friend from high school. We went all over town and caught up on fifteen years of not seeing each other and then grabbed Amanda and had dinner. From there we ran (literally!) to a improv theater and about 15 of Amanda's work friends showed to see me do the improv stuff.
Friday -
Worked from the hotel, then met up with another friend from high school! Had a great lunch then went to the BIGGEST bookstore I have ever seen! After my friend left for home Amanda and I took a nap then had a nice dinner just the two of us.
Saturday -
We woke at 5:30am to the phone call you never want. Amanda's grandfather had passed away in his sleep. Only thirty more days until the wedding. I really think he would have thought it was a "hoot" we made plans to go to Toledo.
Saturday Night -
Got home to a VERY needy dog! Little did she know we were going to sleep for a bit then head out to Toledo in the morning.
Sunday -
Arrived in Toledo I won't go into details since that's Amanda's business. But everyone was sad.
Monday -
Did breakfast with Amanda's family then when everyone went their separate ways we decided we should take care of our marriage license while we were here. Then came back for dinner. I ended up missing a workshop that I already paid for. Oh well...
We leave in the morning for Chicago, but Amanda is on her way back on Friday for her wedding shower here in Toledo. We are both at our wits end. Just finished moving and have not had a single chance to relax in our new home.
The wedding is 31 days away and even though we have our ducks in a row it seems like life is going to to keep tossing us curves. I have never really known how to handle when someone dies. But I know that I liked Amanda's grandfather. He was always nice to me and my dog. I know he will be missed and that he was loved.
